Did taping photocopies of your credit card to gas pumps in order to demonstrate how to insert a card seem a good idea at the time?

Flick's Slow Gas

The gas pumps at Flick's were slow. I tried a few of them before giving up. My multiple gas purchases at the same place for less than $1 each triggered text messages and phone calls from my bank's fraud detection systems.
