World's Largest Ball of Twine

We drove hours out of our way to Cawker City, Kansas, to see one of the great wonders of the world: a ball of twine.  This isn't just any ball of twine. This is the World's Largest Ball of Twine

Cawker City's Main Street

Frank Stoeber wound 5,000 pounds of twine before giving the ball to Cawker City

The children can barely contain their excitement

Lottis Creek Campground

We came upon the Lottis Creek Campground while wandering the Rocky Mountains. It lies about 9 miles south of the Taylor Park Reservoir. It provided a perfect place to pitch our tent and enjoy a bit of campfire fun.

Padre Island Beach

After finding it a bit too cold for camping in Southeastern Colorado, we headed south into Texas in search of warmer weather. We stopped at the Gulf of Mexico. :)

Corpus Christi has great beaches.
